There is a coat in the closet
I have not moved.
It hangs where it always hung.
I walk past it
many times a day.
Sometimes I stop.
Sometimes I only
touch the sleeve.
I know it is just fabric.
But it still holds
the shape of them.
It still holds
a little of them.
I keep telling myself
I will deal with it
one day.
Give it away.
Or put it somewhere else.
But today
it is still there.
And so
in a small way
are they.
